Group therapy

Groups can be a powerful tool in the healing process for individuals struggling with eating disorders or athletes experiencing challenges or questions in sport. Groups provide a supportive environment where participants can share their lived experiences, fostering a sense of connection and understanding. Hearing others’ journeys helps break the isolation often associated with eating disorders, while allowing individuals to gain different perspectives and strategies for recovery. Through open discussions and guided reflection, groups build trust, reduce stigma, and encourage self-compassion, all of which are essential for long-term healing.

Virtual Nutrition Group Options

As an individual, you can join a closed group with a maximum of 6 members that are offered at different times of the year. Members will remain the same for the duration of the group.

Examples of groups offered:

Athlete Support Group

This group focuses on providing specialized guidance for athletes dealing with nutrition-related challenges, disordered eating thoughts or body image challenges.  Athletes can share their experiences while receiving support, direction and feedback to build a relationship with food and their body that is more sustainable in their sport.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Eating Disorders

This group has a rolling admission and uses an ACT approach in order to explore emotional experiences through the life cycle, how eating disorders serve clients in managing pain and how engaging in eating disorder behaviors prevents individuals from leading a meaningful life aligned with their values.

ADHD and Binge Eating Disorder

This group will help clients better understand how ADHD impacts their relationship with food and uncover practical strategies for change. Topics include:

How ADHD influences your brain and daily life

Identifying binge eating triggers through an ADHD lens

Managing appetite changes with ADHD medication

Simplifying meal planning with ADHD-friendly strategies
